Perinatal Mental Health

Perinatal Mental Health refers to mood and anxiety disorders experienced during and after pregnancy (up to two years postpartum). Included under perinatal mental health is postpartum depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders and psychosis. Perinatal disorders affect mothers, fathers, partners, and other caretakers.

I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health and have specialized training through Postpartum Support International (PSI) and 2020 Mom. I am passionate about providing support and help to new parents and caregivers as they transition into this new role of parenthood.  I have also recently embarked on my own journey as a mother, and I believe there is a strong need to help parents and caregivers during this time of transition including new roles and responsibilities, new identities, and physical and emotional changes.

Early screening and detection can help prevent and/or manage these disorders. I can help you by providing support during this difficult life transition. I will also help you find the skills to be able to manage symptoms and connect with your baby. Remember that you are not alone; let us work through this together so you can be your best self for you and your family.
